Columbia Education Center Lesson Plans Columbia Education Center has arranged with Microsoft to list some of their lesson plans on the new Encarta Lesson Collection. These lesson plans were created by teachers for use in their own classrooms. Also, you will find math and science lessons, resources, programs, and activities at Eisenhower National Clearinghouse. Also included is a large collection of links to other Internet-Based Lesson Plans and Resources. A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the web. A WebUnit is a series of topical pages written specifically for elementary age students. Each title is followed by the date of the project's creation or significant revision. They are categorized by subject and grade level. Webquest - A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web. Wolfram Alpha is an incredibly powerful search engine offering a huge range of applications for education. However, figuring out what those applications are can be difficult for some people. A quick review of the free lesson plans available from Wolfram Alpha for Educators will provide teachers with some ideas they may have overlooked in the past. For example, I would have never thought of using Wolfram Alpha for a creative writing project if I had not read about it in the Wolfram Alpha lesson plan collection.. To help educators understand some of the educational applications of Wolfram Alpha, late last week Wolfram Alpha launched Wolfram Alpha for Educators...a collection of free lesson plans, examples of, and ideas for using Wolfram Alpha in the classroom. The lesson plans are currently arranged in three categories; mathematics, science, and social studies. All of the lesson plans are available as free pdf downloads. |
