are the probably the simplest tools for publishing written work to the web. In both cases you can create and share all of your works without leaving the program. Google Docs allows to publish your documents as a webpage. You can then email url or post the url on your blog or website. Zoho Writer provides an extra option which generates an embed code for your documents. Using the embed code will allow people to read your documents without having to leave your blog or website. are similar services that can best be described as YouTube for documents. You cannot create documents within either service rather you have to upload documents created with your preferred word processing program. Both services accept all of the common Microsoft formats, Open Office and Neo Office formats, and PDFs. Once you've uploaded your document it will be assigned a url and given an embed code. Check the list of "Generator" sites down the left side of this blog. You know, those sites that will create (generate) a fake sign based on your text, etc. There are links to every sort of generator you can imagine, from ASCII image generators, to eye chart generators to Warning signs to... FAR too many to mention. I would suspect that this site, or some of the generator sites, will be blocked at school, but you can certainly have a BALL playing with these to make things for your own class website. Just be forewarned - you will get lost in here. It will suck away an hour of your time before you know it. But it's so much FUN!!! Professional Development Workshops and Courses Annenberg Media offers over 50 workshops and courses for teachers which can be used for graduate credit (through Colorado State University), for Continuing Education Units (CEUs), or for enrichment. The courses cover subjects in The Arts, Educational Theory and Issues, History and Social Studies, Literature and Language Arts (including foreign language), Mathematics, and Science, and there are courses available for teachers of all grade levels.
